Program Details
Our Yoga for Children program introduces yoga through simple, life enhancing asanas. These asanas can enhance concentration and memory, focus, and mind/body coordination. The practices learned are an effective preventative for obesity, asthma, sinusitis and other chronic ailments.
The Yoga for Children program offers a unique possibility for every child to experience a joyful blossoming of their natural potential. We celebrate the natural gifts within every child including wonder and a sense of oneness with life.
The Yoga for Children's workshop consists of an introduction to yoga practices including a few simple life enhancing asanas and kriyas. The program content is presented through fun games and play so that children experience a sense of belonging and unity with life.
The class, designed by Sadhguru and conducted by a trained teacher, is open to children age 8-14.
The program focuses on the following aspects:
• Upa Yoga: a system of exercise that activates the joints, muscles and energy system, bringing ease to the whole system.
• AUMkar Meditation: a potent tool to enhance concentration, memory, focus and mind/body coordination
• Nadi Shuddi: a simple practice involving the breath, that balances and purifies the system
• Fun games and snacks Thoppukarnam: Also known as brain yoga commonly, activates the brain and enhances thinking capacity, alertness, memory and concentration.
• Mantra Yoga (AUMkar Meditation): Mantra yoga is a potent tool to enhance concentration, memory, focus and mind/body coordination. It can also help in coming out of psychological disturbances, fear, nightmares as well as help in remedying attention disorders.
• Nadi Shuddhi: The Nadi Shuddhi practice cleanses the nadis – the pathways through which pranic energy flows – resulting in a balanced system and psychological wellbeing.
